La Galerie Davide Di Maggio, in contemporanea con la Biennale di Berlino, presenta nella capitale tedesca la mostra di Yoko Ono “HEAL”.

L’eclettica artista giapponese residente a New York, rappresentante di spicco del movimento FLUXUS, presenta una serie d’ installazioni nelle quali il pubblico potrà interagire.

L’opera WE’ RE ALL WATER consiste in centodiciotto bottiglie di vetro bianco trasparente, contenenti acqua, ciascuna con una etichetta con sopra scritto il nome di una persona. Accanto, ci sarà un piccolo tavolo rotondo con sedie, dove la gente potrà scrivere il proprio nome su delle etichette vuote che applicate su altre bottiglie vuote sparpagliate dentro una scatola a terra, concettualmente andranno ad aggiungersi a quelle già esposte.

La genesi di WE’ RE ALL WATER viene da un concetto che Yoko Ono aveva pubblicato nel 1967 per la mostra alla Lisson Gallery di Londra “you are water / I’m water / we’re all water in different containers / that’s why it’s so easy to meet / someday we ‘ll evaporate together / but even after the water ‘s gone / we’ll probably point out to the containers / and say - that’s me there, that one - / we’re container minders” (For Half -A- Wind Show, Lisson Gallery, London 1967).

All’entrata della galleria, appesi al soffitto, ci saranno undici elmetti dell’esercito tedesco della seconda guerra mondiale, contenenti PIECES OF SKY. Il “cielo” all’interno degli elemetti è costituito da frammenti di puzzles, che la gente potrà prendere, e che messi insieme ricostruiscono il cielo.

Infine, sui muri, saranno appese due grandi mappe di Berlino, di quasi cinque metri ciascuna, una risalente al 1910 e l’altra attuale, sulle quali le persone potranno apporre con degli appositi timbri le parole I LOVE YOU, ICH LIEBE DICH, HEAL e HEIL, a formare il pezzo MENDING PIECE. Il concetto è che le strade e le piazze della città, sono come le vene e i vasi sanguigni del corpo umano, le cui tracce sono state distrutte dalla guerra e l’idea è quella di ricostruire, risanare tutto di nuovo attraverso questo processo di amore.

La mostra è accompagnata dalle note di RISING, dalla performance live a MIYAJIMA , il cui testo cantato dall’artista è un invito a risorgere dalle ceneri della guerra, ad ascoltare il battito del cuore e ad avere fiducia nel prossimo.

La mostra proseguirà fino al 28 marzo 2006. Orari: dal martedì al venerdì dalle ore 12,00 alle 18,00. Sabato dalle ore 11,00 alle 17,00. L’artista sarà presente all’inaugurazione.

In coincidence with the Berlin Biennale, the gallery Davide Di Maggio presents Yoko Ono´s exhibition "heal yoko ono" in the German capital.

The seminal New York-based artist, a leading figure of the FLUXUS movement and Conceptual Art, shows a series of installations with which the public may interact.

The work WE´RE ALL WATER consists of one hundred and eighteen bottles of clear glass, filled with water, each has a label with the name of a person. A small round table with chairs will be placed in the exhibition space with a single water-filled bottle without a label; here people may write a name on a card and place it near the bottle as a conceptual addition to

WE´RE ALL WATER.

WE`RE ALL WATER is inspired by a concept that Yoko Ono published in 1967,  for her exhibition at the Lisson Gallery in London:

"you are water / I´m water / we´re are all water in different containers / that´s why it´s so easy to meet / someday we´ll evaporate together / but even after the water´s gone / we´ll probably point out to the containers / and say - that´s me there, that one - / we´re container minders"

At  the entrance of the gallery is a recent work titled Pieces of Sky. The installation consists of eleven german army helmets from World War II that  are suspended from the ceiling; they each contain pieces of "Sky", which the public may take.

Finally a new participatory installation titled heal will be installed in the smaller room. Large maps of Berlin will be hung on the walls; one group of maps is from 1910, the other is contemporary. People may rubber stamp the words i love you, ich liebe dich, heal on these maps. Yoko Ono`s concept is that the streets and squares of the city are like the veins and blood vessels of the human body lying beneath - their traces have been destroyed by war and time. Through love, a healing process will take place. HEAL also includes Ono´s sound work RISING.

The exhibition will remain open until 28 March 2006.

Hours: from Tuesday to Friday from noon until 6 pm. Saturday from 11 AM until 5 pm.

The artist will be present at the opening.

Zur gleichen Zeit wie die Biennale von Berlin präsentiert die Galerie Davide Di Maggio Yoko Onos Ausstellung “heal yoko ono” in der deutschen Hauptstadt. Die wegweisende New Yorker Künstlerin, Eine Leitfigur der FLUXUS Bewegung und der Konzeptuellen Kunst, zeigt eine Serie von Installationen, die das Publikum zur Interaktion einladen.

Die Arbeit WE'RE ALL WATER besteht aus hundertachtzehn durchsichtigen Flaschen, gefüllt mit Wasser, von denen jede ein Etikett mit einem Namen trägt. Im Ausstellungsraum steht ein kleiner, runder Tisch mit Stühlen, auf dem sich eine einzige mit Wasser gefüllte Flasche ohne Etikett befindet; hier kann das Publikum ihren Namen auf eine Karte schreiben und neben die Flasche legen, als konzeptueller Zusatz zu WE'RE ALL WATER.

Am Eingang der Galerie befindet sich eine neue Arbeit mit dem tirel Pieces of Sky. Die Installation besteht aus elf deutschen Armeehelmen aus dem zweiten Weltkrieg, die vom Himmel herab hängen; jedes von ihnen enthält Teile des “Himmels”, das sich das Publikum nehmen kann.

Die Ausstellung schließt in einem kleineren Raum mit einer Installation, die ebenso zur Teilnahme aufruft und den Namen heal trägt. An den Wänden hängen große Karten von Berlin; ein Teil ist von 1910, der andere Teil sind aktuelle Stadtkarten. Das Publikum kann die Worte i love you, ich liebe dich und heal auf die Karten stempeln. In ihrem Konzept betrachtet Yoko Ono die Straßen und Plätze der Stadt wie Adern und Blutgefäße des menschlichen Körpers und dieser zugrunde liegen - ihre Spuren wurde vom Krieg und der Zeit zerstört. Mithilfe der Liebe findet ein heilender Prozess statt. HEAL beinhaltet auch Onos Klangarbeiten RISING.

Die Ausstellung bleibt bis zum 28.März 2006 geöffnet.

Öffnungszeiten: Von Dienstag bis Freitag von Mittag bis 18:00 Uhr. Samstag von 11:00h bis 17:00 Uhr.

Die Künstlerin wird bei der Eröffnung anwesend sein.
