Dopo la mostra personale "HEAL" nella nostra galleria a Berlino nel 2006 e la partecipazione dell'artista alla grande mostra collettiva "La Sostenibile Leggerezza dell'Essere - La Metafora dello Spazio", evento dell'11° Mostra Internazionale di Architettura - La Biennale di Venezia, nel 2008, organizzata dalla galleria Davide Di Maggio e curata da Davide Di Maggio e Lorand Hegyi, siamo felici d' informare che Yoko Ono ha ricevuto il "Leone d'Oro", prestigioso riconoscimento alla carriera durante la Biennale di Venezia, 2009.

Nata nel 1933 a Tokyo, Yoko Ono è una delle più importanti rappresentanti del movimento Fluxus dal 1960, usando diversi mezzi espressivi come performances, video, installazioni e sperimentazioni.

Nel 1972 Yoko Ono ha partecipato a DOCUMENTA  5 a Kassel e per cinque volte è stata invitata alla Biennale di Venezia (1991, 1993, 2003, 2008 e 2009).

Inoltre ha partecipato a numerosi altri eventi e mostre museali. 

Durante la 53° Biennale di Venezia, La Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa è lieta di ospitare l’esposizione personale Anton’s Memory di Yoko Ono. Il titolo della mostra, ANTON’S MEMORY, rimanda “alla vita di una donna vista attraverso gli occhi del figlio, e della sua debole memoria”, come dice Yoko Ono stessa.

La mostra è pensata appositamente per gli ambienti di Palazzetto Tito e comprende un continuo bilanciamento tra lavori vecchi e nuove opere: film, composizioni sonore, sculture, disegni e dipinti, oltre ad alcune installazioni interattive che coinvolgeranno il pubblico stesso. Saranno presenti, tra l’altro, molti accenni alla materia del corpo e al senso del tatto: per esempio la scultura Touch me III contienè, come stipati in cassetti preziosi, dei frammenti di corpo femminile.

After the presentation of Yoko Ono's work "HEAL"  in our dependence in Berlin in 2006 and the partecipation of the artist at the big group exhibition "The Bearable Lightness of Being - The Metaphor of the Space" an event of the 11th International Exhibition of Architecture - La Biennale di Venezia in 2008, organized by Galerie Davide Di Maggio and curated by Davide Di Maggio and Lorand Hegyi, we are pleased to inform you that Yoko Ono was honored by the Venice Biennale with the Golden Lion for Career Achievement.

Born in 1933 in Tokyo, Yoko Ono is one of the most important artist of Fluxus-movement since the 1960ies. Expressing herself in a variety of media, performances, videos and experiments are having their conceptual roots in this time.

In 1972 Yoko Ono was taking part at the DOCUMENTA 5 in Kassel and for five times the artists was invited to the Biennale of Venice (1991, 1993, 2003, 2008 and 2009).

Furthermore Yoko Ono partecipated at many others events and museal exhibitions. 

During the 53rd Venice Biennale, The Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation is proud to host the solo exhibition,  Yoko Ono’s “ANTON’S MEMORY". The title of the show, reflects "a woman's life we see only through her son's eyes - his faded memory" as Yoko Ono herself says.

The exhibition has been designed especially for the rooms of Palazzetto Tito and is a series of new installations that incorporate some earlier works as points of reference. It includes films, sound compositions, sculptures and drawings, as well as a number of interactive installations. There are also elements dealing with the corporeal and the sense of touch: for example, Ono's sculptures Touch me III, containing fragments of the female body, as if crammed into a simple chest of drawers.
